Lots of people were doing it to measure blowby until someone pointed out that the results depended completely on how good the engine seals were. I don't know if those threads survived some technical glitches in the forum that happened years ago.
MB does sell a tool for measuring blowby. I've seen it referenced in a shop manual somewhere. To my knowledge, no one on this forum has ever had one.
