What can be done now:
Increased School Security; Airport like Security for all entering the School and Armed Guards or Police on the School Grounds.
The School should be well Fenced in and the there could be sensors on the Fences to alert someone if someone trys to climb over them and helps keep Kids who want to ditch School on the School Grounds.
Un-armed Voulnteers could be used simply to watch over things and to report them by Radio. Less expensive but there would still need to be a backround check done on them.
The Airport type Security has the added advantage (X-ray Machine) of a chance to detect a lot of other items you don't want in the School like Drugs.
(I worked at a Security Job as a Reader on the X-ray Machine; we were contracted to a local Cruise Line.)
I think arming Teachers with Tazers is reasonable if it is voluntary.
Not as likely to harm innocent people or generate a Law Suit.
