I am looking behind the pully on the bottom side of where I expect the bearing and seal to be along the shaft housing. Where is the hole located? Is it back toward the rear of the car? Is it centered at the bottom radius of the shaft housing or offset to a side?

Anything you may recall regarding its location would be most helpful.

PS. Do I have to remove anything like a dip stick housing or the tension adjuster in order to see the hole with the mirror?
