My point is that if this guy had any other initial opinion, you would be the first to crucify him based on the method of avoiding draft that he himself describes in that quote, yet thats not what you are doing. You don't see the hypocrisy? I guess not.

You have no idea what the **** you're talking about. 45 years ago I had SERIOUS problems with ANYONE who avoided the draft by most any means. I gave up three years of my life while the hair heads were back home smokin' dope and having all kinds of illicit fun.
Over the years, I have come to know that some of them were sincere in their thinking. Most of them were not, but I learned to give many of them the benefit of the doubt thinking that maybe by now they realize that they should have done something different. I realize that this is likely a concept that you have no understanding of, but it is called forgiveness.
How about YOU? For all I know, YOU are one of the misguided "draft dodgers" of '68 just like ol' Ted.
Most likely you are younger. If there were a draft in force and a shooting war going on when YOU were 19, what would YOU have done? Hmmm?
