The guns will not probably flare that much. Once the car starts moving, there is very little difference. Once you hit about 20 mph, no difference. I did notice that my manual steering box is way more responsive in my new car, but I have no idea why.

I think power steering was standard option in 1981 and foward, but good luck finding that box. I looked for a really, really long time and it was only luck and the kindness of Larry Bible which permitted me to get one. Also, DO NOT FORGET that you need the longer lower steering shaft. I have a post somewhere about the lenghts. Also, the rubber boot is different also.
