Easy to diagnose; just drive your Car a resonable amount of time and if one Oil Cooler Hose does not get hotter than the other that is the Issue.
If you have one you could use one of those Infared Thermometers that you Point but they are not real accurate.
However, I Winter may not be the bast time to test for that.
There is a few threads on the subject.
I the last thread that I read the Person took a straight Punch side ways but in one of the Ring Holes and tapped the Retaining Ring Counter Clockwise and that was enough to turn the Ring even with the ring staked in place.
The retainer is the one with the 2 round holes
