Of course he wants no one to have a gun. If he gets caught in the act, he certainly doesn't want the person that catches him to be armed.

About 20 or so years ago, before the Texas CCW program, there was a guy caught in the act of raping a woman in a shopping center parking lot in Irving, Texas. The gunowner blew the guy away on the spot. No indictment, no nothing. They might have given him a marksmanship medal for the deed.

A rapist would NEVER want people armed knowing that this could happen to them.
