you've got a premium engine, in low mileage condition, that's a step in the right direction for sure.
next I'd pull ALL the rubber off the car, and replace it.
front to back, all the steering joints, shocks, bushings, bearings, subframe mounts, etc.
everything.
then get a nice color sanding and clear coat paint refresh.
brakes flushed, and all components updated.
steam clean the interior, and replace any seat springs or install the foam inserts to improve the seat comfort.
after all this, I challenge you to find a newer car to beat the 87's.
