The charcoal filter is fairly easy to change. It is actually a pair of filters. It is accessed from the bottom of the HVAC housing. Drop the passenger side under dash panel by removing three screws and remove the footwell air outlet deflector. The filters are accessed by sliding the locks on the access hatches. Fairly obvious once you are in there.
