I've got an 89 Power Ram 250, single rear wheel, 4 wd, 5 speed Getrag manual, std cab, 8 foot bed. Slight oversize on the tires (265 vice 245/75), other wise pretty stock.

In the almost fifteen years I've owned it,I can expect 21-23 unloaded, 17-18 with a car and trailer, and 14-15 with the 27' Airstream.

Not sure how the newer trucks compare to mine, my brother hasn't gotten better than 17 with his 2009 F-350 quad cab 4wd.

It's not just the mileage, it's the torque that makes the diesel so great when towing.
