He should be glad that you didnt call OSHA/EPA on his little "spill" and create a bunch of headaches and fines for everyone involved (although it'd probably be tough for you to stay clear of the shiznit storm that would follow) - I would think that it'd be an easy excuse to fire the guy if someone wanted to...
