Guess not.......

I had no idea there even was an ML forum.

However, as fate would have it, the issue of needing a fulltime 4X4 SUV came up in a recent conversation with one of my relatives in Omaha, NE.

I suggested the value aspect of a pre-owned ML, as a nice way to get the job of transportation done in a 365 day-a-year vehicle for the horrific winter weather driving conditions of the upper Great Plains, but was vetoed on the ML as an advised consideration.

I, on the other hand, would be among the first in line to procure a nice earlier model ML for that type of geography/weather living assignment.....

Unfortunately, for me personally the need for a 4X4 in Dallas, Texas doesn't even come up on my personal radar scope - so I sold my '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited fulltime 4X4 I kept at my Omaha home right before selling the home. The only consolation was that I sold it for full retail KBB!

In the early '00s, I sat behind the wheel of a new ML @ Tom Benson's Mercedes-Benz of Metairie, LA. when getting service on my new '99 turbodiesel while working in New Orleans. I liked it, I liked it very much how the seating area felt while in the ML. I could see myself getting an ML someday, somewhere.....provided in snowed a lot wherever that was.

My hunch is that the mighty ML isn't on many MB owner's radar scope - new or used. Exactly why? I have no idea......but perhaps some of the mechanical/costly knocks the ML has received over the years is the reason why.

The fact that TylerH can cut through the BS promulgated on some MB models, 'cause he's actually owned most of 'em, is very helpful in the discernment process of many of these MB models. The cry of wolf by ppl that have never owned this or that MB model, is louder than the reality of the wolf - is my belief.
