I pulled the intake manifold off and it is covered in soot. How do I block off the EGR manifold. I was thinking of a thin piece of aluminum, or copper, or stainless steel that is cut to size of the gasket but without a hole in the middle. Then I was thinking that it would bolt on in this order. head-gasket-blockoff plate-EGR cooler and use the factory bolts?
