Good you are correct, no bowden cable on this bad boy. Good thought on the 3/2 valve. It has a new (used) one with the little plastic tooth in decent shape.

Must have somehow damaged the VCV after hooking it up - maybe allowing the full 20"-22" vacuum to pull on it damaged it like you said...

Off to the yard for a green dampener and another new (used) VCV, lucky I have a great yard not too far...
