300 TD Engine swap questions

I had a freak problem where a stud on the oil filter canister broke and all the oil spewed out while my wife was driving our 85 300 td wagon. I think I have a bent connecting rod so I am in the process of swapping this engine and tranny with an extra engine and tranny from an 82 wagon that I had around.
I discovered that the 85 has 2 sensors that are not on the 82 and I am looking for advice for what to do about it. One is an extra sensor on the block- just forward of the other one on the block the other is on the tranny at the flywheel. Both join with connectors on the center of the firewall.
One is a three prong cylindrical connector and the other is a flat two prong.

What exactly do they do and what would you suggest? Can I just install the engine and leave these leads unconnected?

Thanks so much!
