As I recall, the Crosley was the engine that was not a cast block. It was pieces of plate brazed together and sleeves put in place. I might be thinking of something else, but I think it was the Crosley that was made this way.

I remember seeing a few little Crosley station wagons around when I was a kid in the fifties. They were tiny.
