Although my personal experience is nothing but anecdotal, my premiums have jumped about 17% since last year; my co-pay either doubled or jumped 50%, depending on the service; and, I got a sneaky suspicion that some of the services offered under my plan are going away. All of this within a year. I have already been "warned" to expect a jump next year (2014) for at least another 16% increase next year -- a short 9 months away, but I was gently advised to take advantage of other tax savings such as health savings account to "offset" the rising costs of premiums. Not sure how saving my money offsets another tax increase. So, a 33% increase seems high to me, but who am I to complain since B.O. wants a re-distribution of income & wealth, and others to pay for other's healthcare. It's not free is it? It's certainly not free for those who work. Plus, I am the "target" audience, i.e., "middle class" which is supposed to be the benefactor of many of the B.O. promises ... right. Also, I know a few doctors who have ZERO nice things to say about B.O-Care., but who are they to question the wisdom of Obamacare since B.O. obviously knows more about medicine and running a business. He came to the presidency with years and years of experience ... I mean 143 days of experience as a US Senator before hitting the campaign trail. So, it looks like the anticipatory horror stories are slowly but surely coming true.
So, the top 10 horror stories of B.O.-Care per the story identified in the link:

1. Some may lose their health care – I will certainly have to decide to decrease my coverage wherever possible, so that is partially true;
2. Premiums going up – this is true!
3. Lost jobs –Is it cheaper to not work and get free insurance from the government?
4. Doctor shortages –probably true, but let’s wait and see. I think B.O. is raising his private army of doctor commandos or something like that
5. Tax Increases – absolutely, the Supreme Court said B.O. Care is a tax and someone has to pay for it.
6. Inflation – Yes, more money we print, the value of the dollar goes down – I think that is how it works.
7. Added Bureaucracy – Not the government
8. Less hours to avoid providing insurance—a no brainer here if you’re running a business
9. Huge increase in the public debt – no brainer here again. Someone is paying for it or at least we are borrowing to pay for it.
10. More taxes -- See above
So, overall, the article is generally accurate on all points. I know numbers 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 will directly impact me and my family. That’s 7/10. Sounds like another D.C.-B.O. success story ! The current administration better grab as much income and wealth as possible now since folks will wise up and really really hide their money. Then, who will pay for the gifts and entitlements ?
