they have recently begun selling veggie-oil based motor oil in the US......this has been available in Germany for at least 10 years.....as to how good it protects and such, i have no idea, never researched any data on it.....but i would imagine that even if it protects well at first, it will have a rapid degradation period.....i myself use, always have used, and will continue to use AMSOIL synthetics in my cars and other motorized vehicles and equipment....
