The last time I looked into them (Optimas) - their most powerful CCA was I believe 650 CCAs. The MB diesels have either I believe going from memory - 750 CCA batteries as their standard issue.

I may be off on the above CCAs, (please correct me if I am off) since it was 15 +/- years ago that I looked into the Optimas @ an Auto Zone store near me.

Check it out for yourself, but unless Optima was able to Up their CCAs, I'd not put one in my MB diesel.

Why need so many CCA? You're in Texas so never cold, and anyway the max amperage you can pull on a MB diesel without setting the damn thing on fire is what... maybe 100 A at the starter motor, 50 A at glow plugs, and 20 A of random other crap. I know the battery output amps goes down as sulfation takes hold but still
