I'd say you are correct, geez i know I've worked on 380's before but I guess the climate control system must be pretty bulletproof on 380's, maybe they should have kept that system instead because I know I replaced Klima relays on 126's before! LOL. Maybe not on a 380/early model, yes I have also worked on the early 126 climate control, the black R2D2-looking weird controller, real nightmare system. I think they were gone by '85 though, that was on the first year or two, maybe what you have is different from both the early one and the later one with a Klima relay.
The thing that gets me though is that mainly the job of the Klima is to switch on the AC compressor, not the blower motor, what problem are you trying to repair?
In regards to the Klima, if you can see the fuel relay you would be seeing the Klima. I only saw a pic of the fuel relay laying on top of the fusebox, not installed, I assume it plugs in in the normal location, again more in the middle of the car between the firewalls. Other thought is if the AC compressor doesn't work maybe the klima is missing? Look down between the firewalls for a socket similar, again, to the one the fuel relay plugs in to.
