Hi Christian.
I've got my MB manual here, the empty weight of the 6 cylinder models (W124) is as follows, for cars sold in Germany with standard specs:
300E - 1420kg, 300E-24 - 1480kg, 300CE - 1420kg, 300CE-24 - 1480kg, 300E 4MATIC - 1540kg.
I agree with your other point about stop/start acceleration. Mine isn't all that good, but when moving, there isn't much to touch it. A lot of the smaller cars in Europe with the 2.0 litre engines are fast off the mark, but they don't get far before I start reeling them in.
'Mushdroom' was suprised that I could get 150mph out of mine, not sure how accurate the speedo is on mine, but he was saying his had problems getting to 120 mph. Do you know if these models in the USA are de-tuned, and how do they perform in Australia?
The Octaine levels of fuel here are 95 and 98. Normally I use 95, as 98 is a lot more expensive and not really that much better!!
