In fact, what they SHOULD do, is simply cut 2 1/2% for ALL agencies this year. 2 1/2 % next year and every year thereafter until the debt is gone.
Problem is that this would cut into the politicians budgets for buying votes with OUR tax money.

So basically, you want the government to cut all departments, including military spending, yet you object to any cuts being visible or impacting anyone you know or who might complain.

Your new suggestion is to trim all departments in a way that you figure your life won't be impacted and no one will notice, ect.
I have no problem with trimming all departments, however, complaining about the trimming when its obvious is silly.
This is exactly the mentality that got us into this situation in the first place. You want your cake and you want to eat it too. You want to be seen demanding fiscal responsibility, yet you complain when fiscal responsibility is visible and try and twist literally everything you don't like into some kind of evil plot by evil politicians. Give it a rest.
First, I love fleet week, I don't want to lose such an event forever, as its highly interesting getting to tour the nations navy ships. Second, on the other hand, its after all, a superfluous and highly expensive event, so in the interests of saving some cash, I have no problem with cutting it until we are in the black. I think its stupid that it took sequestration to get some of these extra things pared down, and now everyone is whining left and right about it.
Think of it this way, are you really gonna hire the elephant for your daughters sweet 16 when you are 600k in debt and without a job? doesn't it make sense to cancel the party?
