Like Hatty said, this gun's a toy. A novelty. The average shooter couldn't afford to "target practice" with it. The suitability of any weapon for hunting is of course debatable, but I'd be on the side of "not so much" with the DE. Face to face Grizzly confrontations maybe, but even then I prefer banging two sticks together to keep the bears away. So far it's worked for me 100% of the time.
I would think that they are a good investment from the standpoint that they don't seem to lose much value while you own them and play with them. They seem to hold the value well.

Facing a Grizzly, NWF would I want to bang sticks together. I'll let you bang the sticks and I'll make tracks.
