Back in the 60s, I worked at the State Fair in West Allis, and at the "camp" we were at, there was a "smokers' tent" (called the "sqeek" - don't know why) where they had a ping-pong table set up.

I didn't smoke, but while playing PP, I noticed that my breathing became much easier in all that smoke.

Got outside of the tent, then I was laboring with the "ozone" that was, usually, hanging around. The Milwaukee area used to have periods of "Ozone Alerts" quite often during the summer. I think it had to do with the high humidity from Lake Michigan and the usual suspects.

Other than that, I had to put up with the smoking from the parent and friends. Couldn't see the benefit in burning up money for the FURTHER benefit of the stink and burnt clothing. Then there were the folks that went a bit further and finished off their homes or families.

Not much fun...
