Thanks to all you guys who came back with words of help. Learnt something (vac not needed for front doors to open, so the locks must be busted - will replace). In the end I managed to get the "24 hour" locksmith whose hours are 8 am - 6 pm ( ) who used a slim jim, a wooden wedge and a piece of bent eighth inch dia wire to lift the door pin. $50 later, I was driving my 'new' pride and joy!
