The taurus fan should probably cut it. IDI diesels put a tremendous amount of heat into the coolant. Add to that the somewhat undersized radiators MB used and you end up needing a good fan to keep things in check. You might even need the fan when moving down the road, the air flowing naturally through the radiator might not be enough.

Are you still running air conditioning? How hot does it get in Ontario? In the summer my 350SDL spent most of the time with the fan clutch locked up, the fan roaring away.
