Salesman is coming over to give me an estimate on a new roof for our house. Two-story colonial with no fancy dormers. I expect they will try to shaft us and sell us something we don't need. I want shingles with copper to keep staining down, and I want ice dam protection, but other than that, I don't really know much else. Are there any roofers on here who could give me a crash course in what to get, what to avoid? Thanks.
