Yeah, everyone calls this thing a "fluid drive" instead of a torque converter. Mine works perfect as does my current transmission.

The difference that I can discern between the fluid drive coupler and a true torque converter, is that the engine remains directly hooked to the gearbox at all times other than at a stop.
The next time you drive a torque converter, notice this; When you let off the gas before coming to a stop sign (lets say...) The engine speed will drop down and the car will sort of coast more...

It is a small distinction, but there it is.

and yeah, I can hold onto it for now. I don't have a SO to bug me about keeping crap around.
