If you are confident of the condition of all plastic line O rings, and pre and main fuel filter O rings, and strainer, I vote for the lift pump. Small little devil, fairly simple, not difficult to replace, and a new one solved a whole host of starting and stalling problems for me. Not too expensive. IMHO unless you are really cheap don't try to rebuild it, just get a new one.
