I don't know: I kind of like that. At Burbank, the terminal was built in the 1940s(?). No jetways: they just park planes behind the terminal and everyone walks out. They generally pull up TWO airstairs (front and rear) to a MD or Airbus. Makes de-planing insanely fast.
Waaaaaaaiting for the jetway to connect or waiting for a gate to open up is the most irritating part of the flight. Give me a 30-40 seater with stairs any day!
Worst (US) airport? Maybe DC/Dulles? Annoying, slow, security, long security line, and there's ONE entrance to the maze of terminals. Meaning that it can be 45 minutes before you even get to your gate for boarding.
People whine about LaGuardia, but it's not bad in my book. Yeah, it's dirty, smelly, and old, but I've always got from the taxi door to the plane door in 15 minutes. Plus the Marine Air Terminal, while not special from the outside, is kind of 1930s awesome inside. And it's a 15 minute cab ride from my house outside of rush hour
