That said, do you like this car and if the body, seat, and windows were repaired would you be happy keeping it? If so, find a replacement fender and have the front clip painted. Shouldn't be too pricey.

Neither of my W123's are daily drivers. If I had the money I would fix all of the rust on both cars and keep them for a long time but I don't.
I may try to learn to do some bodywork myself on the 280E since I can't make it much worse. If it wasn't for the front clip it would be a very solid car. At any rate both cars are running great for the time being so I am going to enjoy driving them while I can.
