It is sort of like bringing up Warren G. Harding and Herbert Hoover who, by pushing Republican economic theories for 12 years, destroyed the US economy and much of the world's economy in 1929. Say... Did you know that in Texas the Conservatives tried to get any mention of the causes of the Great Depression removed from history textbooks? I guess they don't consider that one of their greater achievements.
The only good thing the Harding/Hoover administrations seems to have done is give folks a chance to say, "Well, at least Bush did less harm to the economy than Harding and Hoover."

If Ted hadn't run off the bridge, he might have won the Democratic Nomination in 1980, instead of Jimmy Carter and become president, instead of Ronald Reagan. We'd all be wearing Cameltoe, I mean Camelot, Tee Shirts.
