My 83 240D climate controls are in perfect order if you want to make an even swap for that annoying 4 speed to a much easier to drive Automatic transmission.
Especially if you will be having to maneuver the clutch pedal with flip flops this will make things alot easier..

..My controls work fine but not to hijack this thread but I am as of yesterday having an issue with my center Blower motor knob. It just became real difficult to move the thing. Especially from 2 into 3 . I haven't taken it apart yet but back to Charlie, any suggestion why this happens and how to repair.?
