Hey Austin. There is a bead cable attached to the blower switch. It controls a flap that is to the left of the blower going. I might have to look at it again to attempt to figure out why it was there. It didn't make any sense to me why there was a flap there. I eliminated the bead cable and the flap.
If your blower switch knob is not wanting to turn smoothly ...... it could be the bead cable. Those things do "gunk" up. We should probably clean and re-lube them at least once every 30 years.
I didn't look at pg 7 of the 1984 Light Ivory thread.

Will this help you situation daw-two?

WVOPWRD --- that switch would not help me; the cable bead I had issues with was the FAN switch. I decided to eliminate the cable from the fan switch and get rid of that flap.

Pelican didn`t show the switch, but when I sourced the MB part# it is shown as a special order for $33.25.
The MB part# 123-820-07-10 and World pack# W0133-1610082.
I found this from the dealer in South Atlanta. and shows an exploded diagram.
I know there is a part# for that fragile front piece but didn`t find it.
Iam wondering if a thin piece of aluminum could be made the same with holes etc... as the plastic piece?

Charlie --- Per Dave Morrison's thread, the thin plastic front support must be ordered from Germany. At least, that was the case when he was looking.
