The translator is called N59/1 Diagonstic Module OBD 2 . It only looks to be used with the 96 M104 HFM-SFI. I only have R129 wiring manuals so no idea if other cars are the same.

When looking at the mixture formulation wiring diagram, only 4 wires are shown leading to the N59/1, the block shows that there is more of the N59/1 somewhere but I haven't found the 2nd diagram.
