Watch what you pay. Since it is probably not driveable you cannot check the transmission out properly. I imagine if it were to need syncro rings or/and bearings it could prove very costly.
Five to seven hundred sounds like about where it should pass hands at. You just cannot tell in advance what you are getting. The last rust bucket locally with this setup was driveable and on the road. It went for 1200.00. It had a very good known engine and transmission.
I actually had mentioned to him a year earlier to give me a call when he wished to sell the car. He apparently lost my phone number and information. Any buyer that will pay a higher end dollar will want some form of guarantee that the transmission is really sound. The five speed is not as rugged and reliable as the four speed. Or if in my world they will.
