I think Christians get a bad rep from the 99+% or so of Christians who claim to be Christians but do not follow the teachings of Christ.

Christ had two basic lessons. Love your neighbor as you love yourself and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Instead, So-called Christians have waqed wars against non-believers, believers of different opinions and rivals for power within the same belief.

If all Christians followed Christ's rules we would not have the KKK or Arian Nation, the Inquisition, the Hundred Years War, the Crusades or the Spanish conquests of the Americas in the way it happened. Real Christians would accept gays, minorities, and followers of other faiths who pray to the same God as equals and try to include all others by teaching rather than violence.

I am proud to say I am a Christian, but ashamed of the fact that the best Christian I know is a Muslim. He gives 10% of the gross income from his convenience store to poor people he finds driving around San Antonio. He doesn't care about color or religion, if the person is in need he is there to help.
