my problem with snow tires is that where i live (rochester,ny) we used to get lots of snow but for the past 5 years or so we'll get a big dump of snow one day and for the rest of the week the pavement is dry as a bone and all my driving is mostly highway

last year i had a nice set of perelli (sp?) snow tires by the time spring came, they were spent :-(

so this year i've just kept all season and had no problems, if it snows i just take it easy
