That is a clean looking installation. by the pictures it looks like you are using a marine type gear box.


I did some searching and came across a few vacuum type threads, hope something in these will help. The VCV works the same in a 240D as a 300D?SD etc... it bleeds of vacuum slowly to help the transmission to shift.

Don`t really know why it would increase power or decrease it. there is the boost line from the rear of the Intake manifold to the Alda. this get plugged you will have a performance issue. you won`t get full fuel.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
