The atheist argument places its foundations on the idea that we have a solid understanding of everything there is to know, this is essentially a human ego-trip. Believing in God and following a religion is based on faith. I'd rather believe and be wrong than not believe and be wrong. Going by the atheist view of "when dead its all over", then what does it matter if you believed and were wrong? Its not like you get a special treat for it or something.
Cover Your A ss Religion. Going to church in CASE there's a god. I'd wonder if an all seeing and punitive deity wouldn't sorta catch on to that one.
