All serious scholars of religious studies consider Roman Catholicism Christian. Martureo is writing as a partisan of a one particular branch of Christianity and excluding lots of Christians from his definition of 'Christian' for theological reasons. It's unlikely that Jesus would be a Christian from his perspective. Most religions have these kinds of deeply partisan disagreements. Shiites, Sunnis and Alawites have these kinds of disagreements in Islam.
