BTW, back in the 1970s pilots could and did carry a firearm. Seems it acted as a deterrent to any would be terrorists. Those days are gone, today's 'security measures' involve seeking out and seizing dangerous substances like mouth wash and dangerous contraband like finger nail clippers. Plus, your luggage is now open to any Tom, Dick or Harry to rummage through and steal items they may find interesting.
