sounds to me like the aircraft mechanics have a beef with the pilots here too. Why should they not be trusted to have performed their job in a professional safe manner? How dare a pilot go through a preflight check list and not automatically trust the aircraft mechanic whos been on the job for years?
Its harassment at the very least, everyone should be taken at their word for every thing, every where, especially security screening for explosives and weapons.
My word should be good enough for any TSA person. If I say that the 6 foot long 8 inch around tube im carrying is a walking stick and not a surface to air missle, they should take me at my word, as obviously my self confidence in not being doubted and checked is more important than the lives of anyone I could potentially harm.
