Most of the 20 mile stretch to my house is now four lanes, except for the last few miles. Twenty years ago, when it was all two lane, I would see multiple cars in the morning that had gone of the road into the ditch and gotten stuck the night before because of people doing unsafe maneuvers trying to get home five minutes sooner.
Back then, my father got run off the road into the ditch by someone passing in the other direction. I can tell you that the only thing that can pull a 1973 deuce and a quarter out of a rainy ditch is a tractor, not my then current daily driver CJ7 that ended up stuck also.
