My gas DD is gutless, slow, plain, and rides rough over bumps. I smile every time it fires on the first crank, I smile when it tracks straight down the highway with no vibrations, and I smile every time I'm not fixing something that failed from old age.
Excluding my for-fun tweaks, it's been oil changes/plugs and a muffler joint.
