I bought a Goodyear 24V cordless impact which advertised 200 lbs ft torque. I carefully charged it to the max and took it with me to the junkyard when I got rid of my Chrysler gasser van with many holes in the body and almost 300K on the clock, a lot for a gasser, but well used.
When I attempted to remove the tires and nice custom rims that had come with the van, the Goodyear 24V impact would not even budge them, even though I had torqued them to 75 lbs ft with a torque wrench!
It never got a single bolt off, and the guy with the fork lift couldn't wait, so I left the four rims and tires.

I signed on to PepBoys website where I got the impact and wrote a negative review. No profanity, but they have thus far not published it.
I even wrote them a note about that.

Tomorrow I take the impact back which has only been used once. It's only 8 days since purchase.
I want a refund. If not, we reverse the charges with Bank of America, I already got that figured out.
I really did not want to spend big big bucks on a portable, but the MATCO cordless appears to kick all the other wrenches down the block when it comes to power, so I am going with that, despite its price tag.
And I will pay with AMEX because of their return policy. Cheap insurance.
If the PepBoys give me grief, I'm going to start subscribing to Yelp and every other source to let peopl know just exactly how I feel about PepBoys. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt first.
But only once.
If anyone has other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
