I have a friend who runs a small restaraunt. He filters his oil and disposes of it weekly. I get real clean french fry oil delivered to my house every two weeks in original clean containers. He only cooks french fries and therefore there is no salt or any other goodies mixed in. Previously he was giving it to some one who burned it direct in his home heating oil.
Do not get to hung up on the lye mixture as it is very difficult to get the right formular. I burn most of mine direct. I started by buying 5 gallons of new canola and just kept adding it to the diesel. I really do not know what the big deal is with diesel as the first diesels made ran on peanut oil. I hae a trucker friend who has been adding used motor oil to his fuel for years and never had any problems.
