Just finished helping a buddy change out the rear axle on his 93 400E.

We grabbed one off my 94 E320 parts car, and found out it's different.

The V-8s had a different subframe, and much stouter halfshafts, and a larger bolt (M12 vs M10) and bolt circle where they mount on the diff, making the diff unique as well.

I suspect they would exchange as a complete unit, but the individual parts appear unique, even though the M104s got the larger 1.3L V-8 diff.
