Unhappy I still can't get that Bowden cable out....?

Does the cable come off here? I saw it called a bayonet fitting, but I can't see it for the life of me. That tube-like cap appears to be somehow glued or something. There appears to be no provision for it to slip through the metal holder in there, either.

Does it somehow come off through here? I can't figure anything out here, either... does something else there slip out?

Anything else? I'm bummed -- at this point, I've spent so much time on this that I don't think I'll be able to get the tranny in today.
