I'm curious why the OEM's didn't go with a four or five point harness as an upgrade from the three point. It's a lot cheaper, simpler, and more reliable than an airbag system. It's probably a lot more effective, considering NO major racing series uses airbags, but they all use five (or six) point harnesses. There is the matter of taking longer to put on and take off than a three point, but I've used a five point harness in a road car and it was still a lot quicker than donning and doffing all the proper gear for a motorcycle ride.
